Forum Guidelines « Thread Started on Mar 25, 2006, 12:13am »
The goal of this site is to create an environment where DVD Profiler users can share their opinions regarding the contribution rules without fear of ridicule or feeling as though their opinion does not count.
Please keep in mind that what we conclude and will send IVS are simply proposed changes to the existing rules. Nothing decided in this review forum applies to current contributions until approved by IVS and added to their official contribution rules.
All decisions/proposals/conclusions reached here will be posted in the IVS forums as well.
General Forum Guidelines:
Decisions - Decisions are made by a majority of voters after moderators have determined that the vote is finished.
Language - Region and locality posts should be in the language(s) specific to the region and locality.
Username - If your username here is not the same as your username at intervocative.com, please do something in your profile (avatar, tag line, signature) to help users know who you are at intervocative.com.
Reporting Abuse - Everyone has the ability to report a post they feel is abusive. Simply click on the link at the bottom of the offensive post that says 'Report To Admin' It will automatically create a PM that goes directly to the Site Administrator. Please include any message you wish to convey. You may also email the Site Administrator at RulesReviewAdmin@Gmail.com
Regional Language Boards- You will see many sub-boards where you are encouraged to post in your native language, or the native language for that region. We do ask that any suggestions/conclusions reached regarding the rules be posted in English for the benefit of all.
The follow conduct will not be tolerated:
Abuse/Personal Attacks - Users who make abusive posts or personal attacks will be warned and possibly banned. Posts may be modified or deleted by staff at any time.
Flame Baiting - Like it's counterpart flaming will not be tolerated on this board. Flame baiting is a far more subtle and covert action; it is an underhanded tactic that is designed to provoke a response from another member. As the name suggests, the aim is to lay the bait for another user to flame you back, and then incur the wrath of the mods.
The forum structure is laid out as follows:
Moderator – Responsible for enforcing the forum guidelines, keeping the thread on topic and free of personal attacks. You may moderate over multiple forums if your time permits. We can accept a large number of forum moderators.
Global Moderators – Responsibilities include that of the Moderator on a greater scale. In addition, the Global Moderator has the power to temporarily ban members as well as communicate with all forum members more easily. Can also create and manage forum boards within existing categories. Global moderators are limited in number.
Universal Moderators – Responsibilities equal the Global Moderator. Universal Moderators take on the additional responsibility of keeping up with any and all changes to the rules as items are voted on. This group has access to the coding of the site and should only be given to those who have some HTML background. To maintain the site we need between 4 and 6 Universal Moderators.
Administrator – The Administrator is responsible for overseeing the entire site. There is only one administrator account. Access to this account is limited and is shared by more than one user. The Administrator is not involved in any DVD Profiler related topics: only site related issues. This account is set up so it may be reassigned to different people as needed.
Please treat these moderators with the same respect you expect from them. If you feel someone has overstepped their authority please email the Site Administrator at RulesReviewAdmin@Gmail.com or send a PM.
If you are having any troubles with the site itself, you may find the answer in the FAQ Thread
